      If you think of the political spectrum as a nice long left-to-right line, we used to have Labour and the Libs sitting centre-right, and the Greens to the left. The parties attracted those who sit most similarly to them, then all the people who rejected the Lib’s move to the right and ended up putting their preferences for Labour, meaning that Labour now gets more first preference votes … screwing the Greens.
