The em-dash conundrum

I’m not going to lie, I use LLMs a lot for tidying and editing my writing – think a super-powered Grammarly or spell check. But LLM-written or edited text has a few nuances, one being the em dash (—) … they love them.

But as I work with LLMs more, and read more LLM-written text, I find that I throw dashes into my writing more and more often.

So now, I end up writing stuff that never touches an LLM, sounding like it’s copied and pasted out of ChatGPT … sigh
